How to measure For a perfect fit blind

We need 3 measurements to supply you with a perfect fit blind

  1. The glass width in mm
  2. The glass drop in mm
  3. The bead depth in mm

The size needed for us to make a perfect fit blind is the visible glass size. That is the gap between the gasket on either side. (The Gasket is a strip of rubber or plastic that fits between the glass and the uvpc window frame) Measure using a steel tape measure in 3 places the width and the drop and give us the smallest of the 3 measurements. Do not take an allowance off this smallest measurement! The third measurement is the depth between the face of the glass and the face of the uvpc frame. This depth must be between 15 and 25mm. Slightly larger bead depths are possible but are excluded from our online shop for technical reasons.

How to fit a Perfect Fit Blind

To fit a perfect fit blind you need to insert the clips between the beading and the glass. The lugs on the brackets locate into the lug holes in the perfect fit frame. There are 3 brackets sizes. 18mm, 20mm and 24mm. If your bead depth is not exactly correct for these depths then you can put a foam filler between the perfect fit frame and the uvpc window frame. If you need this foam it will be supplied automatically with your order. You can fit the blinds in any case without the foam filler but it serves to close the gap between the frames.

How to fit Handle spacers

If the window handles are close to the face of the uvpc you will need to fit handle spacers. This ensures that the window handles do not interfere with the perfect fit frame. If you have a gap of 9mm or more you will not need these in most cases.

However for very small bead depths of 15-18mm you will usually need them. The spacers come in a 2mm depth and a 4mm depth. If you need these please send an email in addition to your order stating the number of spacers you need.
